Description

The Knightsbridge NETBTMWH is a 25 x 50mm telephone master outlet module with IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector) terminals, designed to fit euro-module faceplates and grid systems. The module provides a single BT master socket connection for landline telephone installations in residential and commercial buildings.

Designed for modular wall plate installations, the module slots into standard 25mm euro-module apertures alongside data, TV, and electrical modules in the same faceplate. The IDC terminals accept solid-core telephone cable without the need for stripping — the connector cuts through the insulation when the cable is punched down, providing a reliable connection. The 21mm recessed depth requires a minimum 25mm back box.

The white ABS construction matches standard UK wall plates and provides IP20 ingress protection suitable for dry indoor locations. Certified to BS 5733 for telecoms outlet safety and performance, the module meets UK wiring regulations for residential and commercial telephone installations. The master outlet configuration allows connection of extension sockets downstream.

What is an IDC terminal?

IDC stands for Insulation Displacement Connector. The terminal cuts through the cable insulation when the wire is punched down, making contact with the copper core without needing to strip the cable first. This speeds installation and reduces the risk of poor connections from incorrect stripping.

What is a master outlet?

A master outlet is the first telephone socket in a property, connected directly to the incoming BT line. Extension sockets can be wired from the master outlet to provide additional phone points around the building. What back box depth is needed?
