Description

Stockholm is a pendant in marble grey. A large opal ball hung from a bright brass ring, so the fitting reads as a circle above a circle. Bands of warm grey-brown marbling sweep diagonally across the glass in broad streaks, wider at one side and fading out at the other, so no two of these are identical. The brass ring is a plain open loop on a short post above a small brass cap that covers the top of the ball, and a black flex runs up from it. The glass is otherwise warm opal and generous in size. It measures 30cm across and 40cm tall, in glass and metal.

It suits a table, an island or a hallway, hung low enough to be looked at rather than into. Hang it so the bottom of the shade sits about 80cm above the surface, a little higher if people walk beneath it rather than sit under it. Hung at that height the shade is read as an object in the room rather than as a source, and the light lands on the table instead of in the eyes of the people round it. It hangs on 250cm, cut to the drop at installation rather than fixed at the factory.

It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

An E27 lamp up to 40W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

How high should it hang above a dining table?

About 80cm from the table top to the bottom of the shade. Go higher over an island people walk past, and lower over a table nobody passes beneath.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
