SARA LED Recessed Tri-Wattage CCT Dimmable Scoop Downlight - 15/20/25W

The Knightsbridge SARA is a recessed LED downlight with three switchable wattage outputs (15W, 20W, 25W) and three switchable colour temperatures (3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, 5000K cool white), all adjustable via DIP switches on the driver. The head rotates 350 degrees and tilts 40 degrees from vertical, allowing light to be directed onto vertical surfaces, feature walls or angled ceilings in commercial and residential installations.

Designed for retail, hospitality, gallery and residential applications where lighting requirements change between zones or over time, the SARA eliminates the need to stock multiple fixed-output downlights. A shop might use 3000K at 15W in a soft goods area, 4000K at 25W over a checkout counter, and 5000K at 20W in a back-of-house zone, all using the same fitting. The 0-10V dimmable driver (dimmer compatibility should be verified before installation) allows further control where mood lighting or energy reduction is needed.

The die-cast aluminium housing with white powder-coated finish dissipates heat from the COB LED efficiently, contributing to the 50,000-hour L70B50 rating. The fitting requires a 140mm cut-out and 160mm minimum ceiling void depth, fitting into standard commercial ceiling grids or plasterboard ceilings. Plug-and-play connectors on the driver allow straightforward installation without hardwiring each connection, and the fitting is compatible with the Knightsbridge EMKIT2 emergency conversion kit where building regulations require maintained or non-maintained emergency lighting.

Each wattage and CCT combination produces a different lumen output, ranging from 1440lm at 15W/3000K up to 2605lm at 25W/5000K. The clear glass diffuser and 45-degree beam angle provide a punchy, directional output rather than wide flood, making the SARA suited to accent lighting, task lighting and feature highlighting rather than general ambient fill.

How do I change the wattage and colour temperature?

Both are adjusted via DIP switches on the driver unit before installation. The driver has two sets of switches: one for wattage (15W, 20W or 25W) and one for CCT (3000K, 4000K or 5000K). Once the ceiling is closed the settings cannot be changed without removing the fitting.

What ceiling void depth is required?

The fitting requires a minimum 160mm ceiling void depth above the plasterboard or ceiling grid. The cut-out diameter is 140mm, and the overall fitting depth including the heatsink is 110mm.

Is it compatible with all dimmers?

The SARA is 0-10V dimmable, which is a commercial dimming protocol. It is not compatible with domestic leading-edge or trailing-edge dimmers. Check dimmer compatibility with the driver specification before pairing, as not all 0-10V dimmers behave identically with all drivers.

Can it be used for emergency lighting?

Yes. The SARA is compatible with the Knightsbridge EMKIT2 emergency conversion kit, which converts the fitting to maintained or non-maintained emergency operation where required by building regulations.
