Description

The Knightsbridge RJ11 outlet module is a 25 x 50mm telecoms socket with IDC (insulation-displacement) terminals, designed to fit euro-module grid faceplates. The module provides a single RJ11 port for connecting landline telephones, fax machines and ADSL modems to BT-standard telephone wiring.

Installed in residential and office settings where modular grid faceplates are used, the module clips into a 25mm-wide aperture on compatible Knightsbridge grid frames. This allows a single faceplate to combine telephone, data and power outlets in a single mounting box. The 18mm recessed depth fits a 25mm minimum back box without projecting beyond the mounting frame.

The IDC terminals accept solid-core telephone cable without stripping the insulation — the terminal blades pierce the cable jacket when the module is terminated. The white ABS construction matches standard white faceplates and grid frames, and the module carries IP20 ingress protection for indoor use. Certified to BS 5733, the telecoms safety standard for UK telephone wiring accessories.

Frequently Asked

What faceplates is this module compatible with?

The module fits Knightsbridge euro-module grid faceplates and frames that accept 25 x 50mm modules. It clips into a single 25mm-wide aperture on 1-gang, 2-gang and 3-gang grid frames.

What are IDC terminals?

IDC (insulation-displacement connection) terminals pierce the cable insulation when the wire is pressed into the terminal block, making contact with the copper core without needing to strip the cable jacket first. This speeds up installation and reduces the risk of incorrect termination.

What wiring does the RJ11 port support?

The RJ11 port is designed for BT-standard telephone wiring, typically using solid-core CW1308 or CW1128 cable. The module supports standard analogue telephone lines and ADSL broadband connections.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The module's 18mm recessed depth fits within this without projecting beyond the grid frame once installed.
