Description
The QTX QTFX-900 is a 900W fog machine with a 1.3-litre fluid tank, wired handheld remote and wireless 433MHz RF remote. The 900W heating element generates approximately 283m³ (10,000 cubic feet) of fog output per minute, with a reheat time of around 4 minutes between continuous bursts. The machine delivers up to 15 seconds of continuous fog per trigger.
Designed for mobile DJs, small event venues, house parties and amateur dramatics, the QTFX-900 sits on stage floors, truss shelves or tabletops without requiring a haze machine's constant low-level output. The wireless remote operates on 433MHz, allowing the machine to be triggered from across a room or backstage without running cable to the operator position. The wired remote provides a backup control option if RF interference becomes an issue in multi-unit setups.
The heating pipework carries a proprietary anti-jam coating that reduces residue build-up from fog fluid, extending the interval between cleaning cycles compared to uncoated pipes. An automatic cut-off circuit stops the heating element when the fluid level drops below safe operating threshold, protecting the machine from dry-firing damage. The digital temperature control system maintains consistent operating temperature during use, reducing variability in fog density between bursts. The 1.3L tank is removable for refilling and cleaning.
The matt black metal housing measures 235 x 180 x 111mm and weighs 2.7kg when empty, making it portable enough for single-person load-in. The mains input uses a standard IEC socket, and the machine runs on UK 230V 50Hz supply. The carry handle folds flat when not in use and provides lift clearance when the tank is full.

Frequently Asked
What fog fluid does it use?
The QTFX-900 works with standard water-based fog fluid. QTX recommends medium-density fluid for balanced output and hang time. Avoid oil-based fluids or haze fluid, which are not compatible with this heating element design.
How long does the fog last in the air?
Hang time depends on room ventilation, ceiling height and fluid density. In a typical 4m-ceiling function room with closed doors, fog from a 15-second burst typically remains visible for 3-5 minutes before dissipating. Higher air circulation or open windows will reduce hang time.
Can multiple units be used at the same time?
Yes, but all units will respond to any 433MHz remote on the same frequency. For independent control of multiple machines, use the wired remotes or place machines in separate rooms where cross-triggering is not a concern.
How is the machine cleaned?
After extended use, run cleaning solution designed for fog machines through the system following the procedure in the manual. The removable tank allows easier access for flushing residue. Regular cleaning extends the lifespan of the heating element and maintains consistent fog output.
