Description
The QTX QTFX-400 is a compact 400W fog machine delivering approximately 2000 cubic feet (57m³) of fog output per minute from a steel housing measuring 240 x 150 x 120mm and weighing 1.5kg. The unit features a 0.25 litre fluid tank and a 3-4 minute reheat time between fog bursts, with a wired remote control using a momentary switch on an IEC connection for on-demand fog triggering.
Designed for mobile DJs, small club installations, theatre productions and house party setups where space and portability matter, the QTFX-400 includes an adjustable mounting bracket allowing the machine to be fixed to standard lighting stands or trusses. The bracket tilts to adjust the fog direction, and the compact footprint means the unit fits into equipment cases and tight rigging positions where larger fog machines would not.
The steel housing provides durability during transport and the IEC mains connection simplifies cabling in multi-device stage setups. The 400W heating element brings the fog fluid to temperature in under 4 minutes from cold, making the machine ready to use shortly after power-on. The wired remote allows the operator to trigger fog from a distance rather than needing to approach the machine during performance.
Fog fluid is sold separately and should be water-based fog fluid rated for use in 400W machines. The 0.25 litre tank capacity provides approximately 8-12 minutes of continuous fog output depending on usage intensity, and the tank is accessible via a screw cap on the top of the housing for refilling between events.

Frequently Asked
What fog fluid does it use?
The QTFX-400 requires water-based fog fluid rated for 400W fog machines. Fog fluid is sold separately. Do not use oil-based fluids, haze fluid or smoke fluid rated for higher-wattage machines as these can damage the heating element.
How long does the tank last?
The 0.25 litre tank provides approximately 8-12 minutes of continuous fog output depending on how often the remote is triggered. For typical DJ or stage use with intermittent bursts, a full tank covers a 2-3 hour event.
Can it be mounted upside down or on its side?
The QTFX-400 should be mounted upright or tilted forward slightly using the bracket. Mounting it upside down or on its side prevents the fluid from reaching the heating element and may cause the pump to run dry.
How quickly does it heat up?
The machine takes 3-4 minutes to reach operating temperature from cold. An LED or indicator on the housing signals when the unit is ready to produce fog. Allow the machine to reheat for 3-4 minutes between extended fog bursts.
