Description

The QTX HZ-800 is an 800W haze machine producing approximately 12,000 cubic feet (340m³) of haze per minute, designed to fill medium-to-large venues rapidly with atmospheric haze for stage lighting, DJ events and production work. The machine operates from 220-240Vac mains via an IEC inlet and warms up in 3-5 minutes from cold start. Three control methods are provided: a wired controller with LCD display and button controls, a 433.92MHz RF keyfob-style wireless remote, and 2-channel DMX connection for integration into lighting control systems.

The HZ-800 suits theatres, live music venues, club installations and mobile DJ rigs where haze is needed to make beam effects visible without the dense fog produced by standard smoke machines. Haze disperses more evenly and lingers longer than fog, providing sustained atmospheric effect with less frequent refills. The 1.2-litre removable fluid tank includes a slot window showing the current fluid level, allowing the operator to monitor haze fluid quantity during use and remove the tank for refilling without disturbing the machine setup.

The machine measures 485 x 195 x 230mm and weighs 4.9kg, making it portable for mobile use while remaining stable when mounted on a stand or flight case. The metal casing provides durability in touring and installation environments. DMX control allows the output volume and fan speed to be adjusted via lighting console, while the wireless remote gives on-the-fly manual control up to typical indoor range of 30-50m depending on obstructions. A 5A fuse rating means the machine draws approximately 3.5A at full output on UK 230V mains.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between haze and fog?

Haze produces a fine, even mist that disperses throughout a venue and lingers for extended periods, making it ideal for lighting beam effects. Fog machines produce denser, faster-settling clouds that dissipate more quickly. Haze requires haze-specific fluid, not standard fog fluid.

How is the output controlled?

Three control methods are included: a wired LCD controller with buttons for manual operation, a 433MHz RF wireless remote for operation from up to 30-50m away, and 2-channel DMX for integration into lighting control systems. All three methods adjust output volume and fan speed.

How long does 1.2 litres of fluid last?

Runtime depends on output setting. At maximum continuous output the 1.2L tank provides approximately 20-30 minutes of haze. Most users run the machine intermittently rather than continuously, extending fluid life considerably. The slot window shows remaining fluid level.

Can it be used in small venues?

Yes, but the 12,000 cu.ft/min output may fill a small room very quickly. Use lower output settings via the controller or DMX to moderate haze density in spaces under 100m². The machine is better matched to medium-to-large venues where rapid fill is needed.
