Description
The QTX HZ-1500 is a 1500W fog machine producing approximately 20,000 cu.ft per minute of fog output through a heated vaporiser element, housed in a matt black steel chassis with nine front-mounted 3W RGB LEDs that illuminate the fog as it disperses. Control is via an included 433MHz RF keyfob-style wireless remote or 6-channel DMX connection, allowing either standalone operation or integration into a DMX lighting rig.
Designed for mobile DJs, event venues, theatre productions and nightclub installations, the HZ-1500 combines fog generation and coloured lighting in a single unit. The 2.3-litre fluid tank sits inside the body and can be removed for refilling without disconnecting the machine from power or DMX. A slot window on the side shows the current fluid level. Warm-up time from cold is 3-5 minutes, after which fog can be triggered continuously or in timed bursts depending on control mode.
The nine 3W LEDs are arranged in a circular pattern around the fog nozzle and can be set to static colours, colour fade, sound-active mode or DMX-controlled colour mixing. The steel chassis measures 465 x 250 x 190mm and weighs 6.45kg including the fluid tank. A top-mounted metal carry handle allows transport between venues, and the IEC power inlet accepts standard UK mains voltage (220-240Vac, 50/60Hz) through an F8A fuse-protected circuit.

Frequently Asked
What type of fog fluid does it use?
The HZ-1500 uses water-based fog fluid designed for thermal fog machines. QTX and other manufacturers produce compatible fluids in 1L and 5L bottles. Do not use oil-based haze fluid or dry ice. Only water-based fog fluid rated for heated vaporiser machines.
How is the fog and LED colour controlled?
The machine includes a 433MHz RF wireless keyfob remote for standalone operation, allowing fog bursts and LED colour changes without running cables. For integrated control, connect via 6-channel DMX to control fog output timing, LED colour, fade speed and sound-active mode from a DMX lighting desk.
How long does the fluid tank last?
At maximum continuous output (20,000 cu.ft/min), the 2.3L tank depletes relatively quickly. Most users trigger fog in short bursts rather than continuous output, which extends tank life to 30-60 minutes of intermittent use depending on burst duration and frequency.
Does the remote require a battery?
Yes. The keyfob remote requires a 23A 12V battery, which is not supplied with the machine. This is a common battery type available from most electronics and battery retailers.
