Description

The QTX Heavy Duty Lighting Stand is a professional-grade aluminium tripod stand with a 1.2m T-bar for mounting multiple lighting fixtures, effects units or audio equipment. The stand extends from 1.5m to 3.6m via a telescopic centre pole secured by robust height-adjustment clamps, and supports loads up to 50kg across the T-bar when balanced correctly.

Designed for mobile DJs, event production, theatre tech crews and installations requiring elevated lighting across a horizontal span, the stand suits PAR cans, moving heads, compact LED bars and small effects units. The 1.2m T-bar provides enough width to mount three to five fixtures depending on their individual weight and spacing requirements. Fixing bolts are supplied for attaching lighting effects to the T-bar.

The tripod base folds flat for transport, collapsing to 1500 x 150 x 100mm, and weighs 4.7kg when folded. The aluminium construction keeps weight manageable for one-person setup whilst maintaining structural rigidity under load. The base legs spread to approximately 1m diameter when fully deployed, providing stability on flat floors in venues, studios and outdoor covered stages.

Each height-adjustment clamp uses a twist-lock mechanism rather than pin-and-hole indexing, allowing the stand to be set at any height within the 1.5-3.6m range rather than being limited to fixed increments. The T-bar is fixed parallel to the ground and does not tilt, making it suitable for horizontal fixture arrangements but not for angled washes or single-point mounting where rotation is needed.

Frequently Asked

What's the maximum load capacity?

The stand supports up to 50kg distributed across the 1.2m T-bar. For safe operation, balance the load evenly across the bar and ensure no single fixture exceeds half the total capacity. Unbalanced loads can cause the stand to tip.

How is the height adjusted?

The centre pole telescopes from 1.5m to 3.6m and locks at any height within that range using twist-lock clamps. There are no fixed height increments, so you can set the precise working height needed.

What fixtures can be mounted?

Any lighting fixture, effects unit or audio equipment with a standard mounting bracket or clamp that fits the T-bar diameter. PAR cans, moving heads, compact LED bars and small effects units are typical. Fixing bolts are supplied.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

The stand can be used outdoors under covered stages or marquees where it's protected from rain and wind. It is not weatherproof and should not be exposed to wet conditions or strong wind, which could destabilise the tripod base.
