Description

The QTX is an 80W RGBWA COB LED moving head light with 540° pan and 270° tilt movement, controlled via 11 or 14-channel DMX, internal auto programs, sound-to-light mode, or master/slave linking. The single 80W chip-on-board LED mixes red, green, blue, white and amber to produce saturated colour washes with a 36° beam angle, filling small to mid-sized rooms without the bulk of larger wash fixtures.

Designed for mobile DJs, small stages, bars, nightclubs and function rooms, the QTX runs in standalone mode using four auto programs or four sound-reactive programs that sync to music. The forward 180° auto and sound modes restrict movement to the front arc, preventing the beam from shining back into the DJ booth or operator area. For more precise control, 11-channel DMX handles basic colour mixing and movement, while 14-channel mode adds individual colour channel control and strobe functions. Multiple units can be daisy-chained in master/slave configuration to mirror movements without a DMX controller.

The head weighs 2.35kg and measures 245 x 205 x 140mm, making it small enough to pack into a standard gig bag or stow between truss uprights. The base accepts the supplied mounting brackets for rigging to standard 50mm trussing, or the unit can be set on a flat surface as a free-standing uplight. The IEC power input accepts 110-240Vac so the fixture works worldwide without voltage switching, drawing 100W at full output.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between 11-channel and 14-channel DMX mode?

11-channel mode provides basic control over pan, tilt, colour macros, dimmer and strobe. 14-channel mode adds individual RGBWA colour channel control, allowing custom colour mixing from the DMX controller rather than selecting preset colour combinations.

Can it run without a DMX controller?

Yes. The QTX has four auto programs and four sound-to-light programs built in, accessed via the control panel on the rear of the base. Multiple units can also be linked in master/slave mode to mirror movements without DMX.

What does the forward 180° mode do?

Forward 180° restricts the pan movement to the front half of the 540° arc, preventing the light from rotating back towards the DJ booth or operator position. This mode is available in both auto and sound-to-light operation.

How is it mounted to trussing?

The base has mounting points that accept the supplied brackets, which fit standard 50mm diameter trussing. The unit can also be used free-standing on a flat surface without mounting.
