Description

The QTX triangle lighting truss system combines a 3m wide triangular truss bar with two height-adjustable T-bar stands, creating a portable overhead rigging frame for stage lighting, DJ setups and event production. The triangular truss is fabricated from welded steel tube with a 38mm diameter cross-section, pre-drilled on all three faces to accept clamp-on lighting fixtures, cable ties and rigging hardware.

Designed for mobile DJs, small venue installations and events requiring 6-12 PAR cans, moving heads or LED wash fixtures, the system supports a total distributed load of up to 120kg across the 3m span when the truss is positioned horizontally. The two T-bar stands adjust from 1.5m to 3m height using telescopic sections locked with safety pins, allowing the truss to be set at different heights depending on venue ceiling clearance and lighting throw distance. The system collapses to 1500 x 220 x 200mm for transport and weighs 26kg total.

The triangular cross-section provides torsional rigidity that prevents the truss from twisting under uneven loads, which is critical when fixtures are mounted asymmetrically or when moving heads create dynamic loads. Mounting fixtures for up to 12 lighting effects are included in the kit, along with safety pins for height adjustment. The powder-coated black finish reduces reflections during performances and matches standard stage hardware.

What's the maximum safe load for this truss system?

The system is rated to 120kg total distributed load when the truss is horizontal and the stands are set to maximum height. This assumes the load is spread across multiple mounting points rather than concentrated at the centre. For safety, always leave headroom below the maximum rating and consult the manual for specific rigging guidance.

How many lighting fixtures can be mounted?

The kit includes mounting fixtures for up to 12 lighting effects. The actual number you can safely mount depends on the weight of each fixture and how the load is distributed. Twelve lightweight PAR cans at 2-3kg each would sit comfortably within the 120kg limit, but six moving heads at 15kg each would already total 90kg.

Does the truss collapse for transport?

The stands telescope down and the truss remains at 3m length but the entire assembly packs into a collapsed footprint of 1500 x 220 x 200mm. The 26kg total weight makes it a two-person lift for vehicle loading.

What diameter tube are the mounting clamps designed for?

The truss uses 38mm diameter tube. Standard lighting clamps and hook-clamps designed for this diameter will fit. The pre-drilled holes on all three faces of the triangular truss allow fixtures to be bolted or cable-tied in place.
