Description

The QTX par can houses twelve 15W 6-in-1 LEDs arranged in a 235mm diameter housing, each LED combining red, green, blue, white, amber and UV diodes. The fixture draws 180W at full output and runs on 90-240Vac mains, accepting either 6-channel or 10-channel DMX control for colour mixing, dimming and strobe effects.

Designed for stage lighting, club installations and mobile DJ rigs, the par can operates in three modes: DMX for programmed control, auto-run for pre-set colour sequences, and sound-activated for music-triggered colour changes. The 25° beam angle produces a defined mid-throw wash suitable for highlighting performers, washing small-to-medium stages, or accenting architectural features at distances of 3-8 metres. The dual mounting bracket allows the fixture to be hung from truss or lighting bars, or set on the floor as an uplighter.

The RGBWA colour mixing provides standard saturated primaries plus amber for warmer tones and pastel variations that straight RGB cannot produce. The UV diode adds blacklight capability for fluorescent materials and reactive paint effects without needing a separate UV fixture. At 1.25kg the par can is light enough for single-person rigging yet substantial enough to stay stable when floor-mounted. The black housing dissipates heat through rear ventilation slots, and the unit operates without forced-air cooling, keeping stage noise minimal during quiet passages.

Frequently Asked

What DMX channel modes are available?

The fixture supports 6-channel or 10-channel DMX addressing. The 6-channel mode typically provides individual control for red, green, blue, white, amber and UV. The 10-channel mode adds dimmer, strobe and macro channels for more advanced programming. See the product manual for the exact channel map.

Can it run without a DMX controller?

Yes. The par can includes auto-run and sound-activated modes that work without DMX. Auto-run cycles through pre-set colour sequences, and sound-activated mode triggers colour changes based on audio input detected by the built-in microphone.

What's the throw distance for the 25° beam?

The 25° beam angle suits throw distances of 3-8 metres for stage wash applications. At closer distances the beam produces a tighter spot, while distances beyond 8 metres begin to dilute colour saturation and intensity.

Does it need forced-air cooling?

No. The fixture uses passive convection cooling through rear ventilation slots. This keeps the par can silent during operation, which matters when recording live performances or during quiet passages where fan noise would be intrusive.
