Description

The Picasso is a 44.5cm-diameter sculptural pendant built from overlapping ribbons of graphite-finished plastic that spiral around a central column. A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the core of the shade (bulb sold separately), and the staggered ribbon profile lets light escape between each band rather than projecting downward as a single beam.

Designed as a decorative ceiling pendant for dining tables, kitchen islands, hallways and stairwells, the Picasso suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 150cm cable can be shortened on installation to set the shade 700-800mm above a dining surface or higher in a hallway. At 59cm tall and 44.5cm wide, the shade reads as a single sculptural object rather than a conventional drum or globe pendant.

The graphite finish has a soft matt sheen that picks up cooler greys in daylight and warmer tones under filament lighting. The ribbon construction is the defining feature: when the lamp is switched on, light passes through the gaps between bands and throws layered horizontal shadows onto the surrounding ceiling and walls. Pairing the fitting with a warm-white E27 GLS filament bulb (referenced in the product tags) emphasises that effect and gives the graphite shade a softer cast than a cool LED would.

The Picasso uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. An E27 GLS filament bulb suits this fitting well — the visible filament shape pairs with the open ribbon shade and warm filament light flatters the graphite finish.

How is the cable adjusted?

The supplied cable is 150cm and can be shortened during installation by a qualified electrician. For dining tables and kitchen islands the shade typically sits 700-800mm above the surface; in hallways and entrance spaces it usually hangs higher.

Is the shade suitable for bathrooms?

No. The Picasso is rated for indoor domestic use in dry locations and does not carry an IP rating for bathroom zones. Use it in living areas, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and stairwells.

How is the shade cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulb to cool, then dust the ribbon surfaces with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth is acceptable. Avoid solvents, abrasive cleaners and household polishes, which can mark the graphite finish.
