Description

The Knightsbridge OWALL02A is an IP54-rated outdoor wall light with a cylindrical anthracite powder-coated body housing two GU10 fittings that direct light upwards and downwards. Constructed from 201 stainless steel, the 60mm diameter cylinder extends 96mm from the wall and stands 170mm tall, creating vertical wash light on both sides of the fixture.

Designed for external wall mounting on porches, patios, garage entrances and residential façades, the IP54 rating protects the fittings from dust ingress and splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for locations exposed to rain but not direct water jets. The up-and-down light distribution highlights architectural features above and below the mounting point while minimising direct glare at eye level. Each GU10 fitting accepts halogen or LED bulbs up to 20W (sold separately), allowing choice over colour temperature and beam angle to suit the application.

The anthracite powder-coated finish provides a dark grey-black tone that integrates with modern and industrial exterior colour schemes without the stark contrast of pure black or the high maintenance of polished metals. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments better than mild steel equivalents. The clear diffuser at the top and bottom openings allows full light transmission without colour shift, while the compact 60mm diameter keeps the visual footprint small on narrow wall sections or between windows.

What does IP54 mean for outdoor use?

IP54 provides protection from dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. The fitting is suitable for mounting on external walls exposed to rain but not direct water jets or submersion. It is not rated for in-ground installation or use in areas subject to pressure washing.

What GU10 bulbs are recommended?

Most users pair this with 5-7W LED GU10 bulbs in 3000K warm white or 4000K cool white depending on the architectural style. Each fitting accepts bulbs up to 20W maximum. For optimal up-and-down wash effect, choose a 38° or 60° beam angle rather than narrow spots.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the GU10 bulbs installed. If you fit dimmable LED GU10s and wire the circuit to a compatible LED dimmer switch, the light output will dim. Non-dimmable GU10s will not respond to dimmer controls.

How is the fitting mounted?

The wall plate fixes to an external wall with screws and rawl plugs (not supplied). Mains cable feeds through a central rear knockout in the backplate. The cylindrical body then secures to the backplate with a locking collar, concealing the wiring within the fixture body.
