Description

The Knightsbridge OWALL01BK is a single-cylinder outdoor wall light with a matt black powder-coated 201 stainless steel body and a clear glass front that protects a GU10 downlight fitting. The IP54 rating provides protection against dust ingress and splashed water from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, recessed doorways, and building facades where direct rain exposure is limited.

Designed for domestic and commercial exterior lighting, the downward-firing cylinder casts light onto pathways, door thresholds, and building bases without creating upward light spill. The 60mm diameter and 120mm height suit modern and industrial-style buildings where compact, discreet lighting is preferred over larger traditional lanterns. The 96mm projection from the wall allows clearance for the GU10 bulb recess and keeps the glass face approximately 35mm forward of the mounting plate.

The 201 stainless steel construction resists corrosion in coastal and urban environments better than mild steel alternatives, and the matt black powder coating provides a low-sheen finish that blends into dark cladding, brick, and render. The fitting accepts any GU10 halogen or LED bulb up to 20W (sold separately), with dimmer compatibility dependent on the chosen bulb. Class I construction requires an earth connection during installation.

The fitting is rated IP54, which protects against dust ingress and splashed water from any direction. It suits covered porches, recessed doorways, and building facades where direct heavy rain exposure is limited. It is not rated for fully exposed positions such as open garden walls or areas subject to driving rain.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 20W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W LED GU10 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for porch and pathway lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the GU10 bulb you choose. Dimmable LED GU10 bulbs exist, but not all are compatible with all dimmers. Check the bulb packaging or contact us for bulb recommendations if dimming is required.

Does it require an earth connection?

Yes. This is a Class I fitting and requires connection to the earth wire during installation. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.
