Description

The Knightsbridge OWALL1BC is a single-outlet outdoor wall light with a cylindrical brushed chrome housing built from 201 stainless steel and rated IP54 for dust and splash protection. The fitting directs light downward from a single GU10 lamp (sold separately) through a clear diffuser, making it suited to doorways, porches, patios and external pathways where focused downlighting is needed rather than ambient wash.

At 120mm tall with a 60mm diameter and 96mm projection from the wall, the compact proportions suit low-profile mounting positions next to doors, on garden walls and beside garage entries where a larger bulkhead fitting would dominate. The IP54 rating offers protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, sufficient for covered outdoor areas and exposed positions where driving rain is not a regular factor. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion in coastal and urban environments.

The fitting accepts any standard GU10 lamp up to 20W maximum, giving flexibility to choose LED or halogen and to set the colour temperature and beam angle depending on the application. Dimmability depends on the chosen lamp — LED GU10 lamps marketed as dimmable will work with compatible wall dimmers, while non-dimmable LED and halogen lamps will not. The brushed chrome finish provides a neutral metallic tone that pairs with both contemporary and traditional exterior styling.

What IP rating does this carry and is it suitable for fully exposed positions?

The fitting is rated IP54, which protects against dust and water splashes from any direction. It suits covered porches, under eaves, and positions with partial shelter. For fully exposed positions subject to driving rain, an IP65 or higher rating would be more appropriate.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard GU10 lamp up to 20W maximum. GU10 LED lamps between 4-7W are the most common choice, offering equivalents to 35-50W halogen output. The lamp is not included.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmability depends on the GU10 lamp chosen. If you fit a dimmable LED GU10 and pair it with a compatible LED dimmer switch, the light will dim. Non-dimmable LED lamps and standard halogen lamps may flicker or fail to dim smoothly.

How is it mounted and what fixings are needed?

The fitting mounts via a rear wall plate with two screw fixings. Wall plugs and screws suitable for the wall substrate (brick, render, timber cladding) are typically needed and are not included in the box.
