Description

The Ceiling Holder for Pendants grips the flex at whatever drop you set it to and covers the ceiling outlet behind it. A short black cylinder with a plain flat top, opened out at one side into a long slot where the cord is gripped. The lamp ring shows as a fine spiral inside the opening on the top face. A small oval boss stands out on the side of the body and holds the grub screw that clamps the cord. The moulding is a flat even black with a fine grain to it, and there is no metal visible apart from the ring inside. It is a plain working holder meant to be almost invisible against a dark ceiling. It hangs as a ceiling suspension, and the collar locks the flex at whatever drop you set.

It closes the ceiling outlet and holds the flex, so a pendant hangs level and the drop stays where it is set. It is a part rather than a finished fitting, so it is bought alongside whatever it is going to carry or connect to rather than on its own. That is the point of buying the pieces separately: the shade, the flex and the holder are each chosen on their own, and a run can be made up to a length and a drop that no finished pendant would give you.

It is class II, double insulated, so it needs no earth, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.
