Description
The Knightsbridge Torlan is a 1828mm (6ft) LED batten with switchable output between 30W (4,750lm at 4000K) and 60W (8,660lm at 4000K), selectable colour temperature (3000K, 4000K, 5700K), and integrated 3-hour emergency lighting with a LiFePO4 battery. The batten is constructed from anti-corrosive polycarbonate with an IP65 weatherproof rating and IK08 impact resistance, housed in a grey finish with an opal diffuser and stainless steel diffuser clips.
Designed for commercial, industrial and outdoor applications where high-output task lighting and emergency backup are required in a single fitting, the Torlan suits workshops, warehouses, car parks, loading bays, stairwells, corridors and external covered areas. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and water jets, while the IK08 impact rating withstands mechanical shock from trolleys, ladders and airborne debris. Surface mounting is standard; suspension mounting requires an optional accessory kit.
The internal switches for wattage and CCT selection allow a single SKU to cover multiple installation requirements without stocking separate variants. At 30W the batten outputs 4,750lm at 4000K (158.3lm/W), suitable for general area lighting. At 60W it outputs 8,660lm at 4000K (144.3lm/W), providing high-intensity task illumination. The 3000K setting produces warm white light for hospitality or residential applications, 4000K neutral white for general commercial use, and 5700K cool daylight for precision work areas. Emergency mode provides 385lm output for 3 hours, selectable as maintained, non-maintained or switched depending on building regulations.
The polycarbonate body resists corrosion in marine, coastal and chemical environments where traditional steel battens would degrade. The 90mm square profile keeps the fitting compact on low ceilings, and the 150-degree beam angle provides wide-area coverage without creating harsh shadows. CRI >85 ensures accurate colour rendering for inspection work, quality control and retail display. The LED module is rated to L70B50 at 60,000 hours, equivalent to approximately 20 years of operation at 8 hours per day.

Product Specification Sheet
Frequently Asked
How do I select the wattage and colour temperature?
Internal DIP switches on the driver allow selection between 30W and 60W output, and between 3000K, 4000K and 5700K colour temperature. These are set during installation before the fitting is powered on. See the specification sheet in the Downloads tab for switch positions.
What is the difference between maintained, non-maintained and switched emergency modes?
Maintained mode keeps the emergency LED on continuously when mains power is present. Non-maintained mode activates the emergency LED only when mains power fails. Switched mode allows the emergency function to be controlled via an external switch. The mode is selected via internal switches during installation to meet building regulations.
Can this be suspended from the ceiling?
Yes, but suspension mounting requires an optional accessory kit sold separately. The standard fitting is designed for surface mounting to ceilings or walls.
What does the IK08 impact rating mean?
IK08 indicates the fitting can withstand an impact of 5 joules, equivalent to a 1.7kg mass dropped from 295mm. This makes it suitable for environments with risk of mechanical impact from trolleys, ladders, tools or airborne debris.
