Description

The Knightsbridge BA03S1MW is a single GU10 wall spotlight in matt white pressed steel and glass, rated IP44 for bathroom installation. The spotlight head rotates 350° on its circular backplate and tilts 90° from horizontal to vertical, allowing light to be directed onto mirrors, shower cubicles, or along a wall as wash lighting. A pull cord switch integrated into the backplate controls the light without requiring a separate wall switch.

Designed for bathroom zones 2 and 3, the IP44 rating protects against water splashes from all directions, making this suitable above mirrors, beside basins, and in shower rooms where the fitting is at least 600mm from the shower head. The pull cord eliminates the need for a nearby wall switch, useful in bathrooms where switch positions are restricted by tiling or layout. The 123mm projection from the wall keeps the spotlight clear of mirrors and cabinets while maintaining a compact profile.

The matt white finish integrates cleanly with white ceramic tiles, painted plaster, and contemporary bathroom furniture. The pressed steel construction gives rigidity to the adjustable joint, preventing the head from drifting out of position once set. The spotlight accepts any GU10 halogen or LED bulb up to 20W (sold separately), with dimmer compatibility dependent on the specific bulb chosen. The glass front lens is clear, directing the full beam output from the GU10 reflector without diffusion.

What bathroom zones is this rated for?

The IP44 rating makes this suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. Zone 2 is the area within 600mm of a bath or shower basin; zone 3 is beyond 600mm. This spotlight should not be installed in zone 0 (inside a bath or shower) or zone 1 (directly above a bath or shower to 2.25m height).

Does it come with a bulb?

No. The fitting accepts any GU10 halogen or LED bulb up to 20W maximum. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED GU10 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bathroom mirror lighting.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the GU10 bulb fitted. If you use a dimmable LED GU10 and a compatible LED dimmer switch, the light can be dimmed. Non-dimmable GU10 bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if connected to a dimmer circuit.

How is the pull cord switch wired?

The pull cord is integrated into the backplate and wired in series with the mains supply. The light is controlled by pulling the cord — no separate wall switch is needed, though it can be wired downstream of an existing switch if preferred.
