Description

The Knightsbridge Seren is a recessed LED downlight with three selectable wattage outputs (7W, 10W, 12W) and three colour temperature settings (3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, 5000K cool white), adjusted via switches on the driver before installation. The integrated SMD LED array sits behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser with a 100° beam angle, delivering between 950-1,575 lumens depending on the wattage and CCT combination chosen.

Designed for commercial spaces including retail, offices, hospitality and educational buildings, the Seren fits a 125mm ceiling cut-out and requires a minimum 100mm void depth above the ceiling plane. The die-cast aluminium body with white powder-coated finish includes spring retention clips for secure fixing into plasterboard or suspended ceilings. The IP40 rating (IP20 from above) allows use in dry internal environments but not in zones requiring moisture protection. Plug-and-play connectors simplify the mains wiring connection during installation.

The tri-wattage and tri-CCT adjustability allows a single SKU to cover multiple lighting scenarios without stocking different product variants. Lower wattages suit corridors and stairwells where ambient light is sufficient; higher wattages provide task lighting in workspaces. The 3000K setting gives a warmer residential feel in hospitality areas, 4000K suits general commercial use, and 5000K provides crisp illumination for technical or healthcare environments. The fitting carries a 5-year warranty and is rated for 50,000 hours L70B50 lifespan. An optional emergency kit (EMKIT2, sold separately) can be retrofitted for compliance with fire safety regulations.

How are the wattage and colour temperature adjusted?

Both settings are controlled by DIP switches on the driver unit before installation. Once the downlight is fitted into the ceiling, the settings cannot be changed without removing the fitting and accessing the driver. Set your preferred wattage and CCT during installation based on the room's lighting requirements.

What ceiling depth is required?

The Seren requires a minimum 100mm void depth above the ceiling and a 125mm diameter hole cut into the ceiling surface. The recessed depth of the fitting itself is 69.5mm, with the remaining space allowing clearance for the driver and cable connections.

Is the downlight dimmable?

No. The Seren is non-dimmable and designed for full-output on/off switching. Attempting to dim the fitting may damage the driver or cause flickering.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP40 rating (IP20 from above) means the Seren is suitable for dry internal spaces only. It does not meet the IP rating requirements for bathroom zones or any location where moisture ingress is a concern. For bathrooms, choose a downlight with IP65 or IP44 rating depending on zone placement.
