Description
The Knightsbridge CUG2F is a steel mounting frame designed for the Curved Edge grid switch and socket system, accommodating 3-4 gang grid faceplates. The frame measures 128mm wide by 60mm high with a 27mm projection from the wall, and includes pre-fitted mounting screws and an integrated earth terminal. Each row of grid modules requires one mounting frame, so a 6-gang, 8-gang or 12-gang faceplate with two rows of modules would need two frames.
Intended for commercial, hospitality and residential installations where multiple switches, sockets or USB ports need to be grouped in a single location, the frame provides the structural support for Knightsbridge's modular grid system. The frame is fixed directly to the back box, then grid modules (switches, sockets, dimmers, data ports) are clipped into the frame, and finally the faceplate is fitted over the assembly. This modular approach allows a single installation point to house any combination of electrical functions without needing multiple adjacent back boxes.
The white-finished steel construction is rated IP20 for indoor dry-location use, and the frame carries Knightsbridge's 25-year warranty. The frame is compatible only with Knightsbridge Curved Edge grid faceplates — it does not work with flat-edge grid systems or standard screwed faceplates. Mounting screws are pre-fitted to the frame, reducing on-site assembly time.

Frequently Asked
How many frames are needed for a 6-gang faceplate?
Knightsbridge curved edge grid faceplates with 6, 8 or 12 gangs are arranged in multiple rows (typically two rows of 3, two rows of 4, or three rows of 4). Each row of modules requires one mounting frame, so a 6-gang plate with two rows needs two CUG2F frames.
Is this compatible with standard back boxes?
Yes. The frame fixes to a standard 25mm minimum back box using the pre-fitted mounting screws. Grid modules and faceplates are then fitted to the frame rather than directly to the back box.
Can this be used with flat-edge grid systems?
No. The CUG2F is designed specifically for Knightsbridge's Curved Edge grid range. Flat-edge grid systems use a different mounting frame profile and are not cross-compatible.
What grid modules fit this frame?
The frame accepts any Knightsbridge Curved Edge grid module, including switches, sockets, USB ports, dimmer modules, data ports and blank plates. Modules clip into the frame horizontally, typically in rows of 2, 3 or 4 modules depending on the faceplate size.
