Description
The Knightsbridge VFCFIPC is a fixed GU10 downlight with IP65 front protection and fire-rated construction to 30/60/90 minutes in solid timber joists, 30 minutes in web-joists and I-joists. The chrome bezel sits 5mm proud of the ceiling surface around a 69mm diameter cut-out, and the pressed steel housing recesses 117mm into the ceiling void with a total minimum void requirement of 167mm.
Designed for bathroom zones 1 and 2, wet-room ceilings, kitchens prone to steam, and commercial spaces requiring IP65 ingress protection, the downlight uses push-fit terminals for fast installation and supports loop-in/loop-out wiring. The GU10 lamp holder accepts both LED and halogen bulbs up to 35W (sold separately), with dimming dependent on the bulb type chosen. When fitted with a maximum 6W LED lamp, the fitting is IC-rated for direct contact with insulation.
The chrome finish is a bright reflective electroplate that pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and accessories in bathrooms, or with brushed and polished chrome kitchen hardware. The 84mm diameter bezel is small enough to fit typical bathroom ceiling grids without crowding adjacent fittings. The fire-rated intumescent seal expands under heat to maintain the ceiling's fire resistance rating where the downlight penetrates it.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used in a bathroom?
Yes. The IP65 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 1 and 2, including directly above a bath or shower enclosure. The IP65 protection is from the front (ceiling side) only — the top of the fitting in the void is IP20.
What fire rating does it carry?
The fitting is fire-rated to 30/60/90 minutes in solid timber joists, 30 minutes in web-joists, and 30 minutes in I-joists (Staircraft). The intumescent seal expands under heat to maintain the ceiling's fire resistance where the downlight penetrates it.
What ceiling void depth is needed?
A minimum 167mm void is required to accommodate the 117mm recessed depth of the housing plus clearance above. Measure from the finished ceiling surface to the underside of the floor or roof structure above.
Is it dimmable?
Dimming depends on the GU10 bulb fitted. Dimmable LED GU10 bulbs will dim when paired with a compatible LED dimmer. Non-dimmable bulbs will not respond to a dimmer and may flicker or fail.
