Description

The Illumia is a 6-light LED suspension from Ideal Lux built around a structure of matt black painted metal arms that intersect at a central circular ceiling plate. Six slender rods descend from the arms, each ending in a conical matt black shade housing an integrated LED module. The complete fitting measures 1600mm across at maximum span, with a 580mm drop from ceiling plate to lowest shade, and delivers 37W of 3000K warm white light across the six integrated sources.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and large living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above, the Illumia distributes light across a wide horizontal plane rather than concentrating it in one spot. The six shades hang at staggered heights along the arms, creating visual interest and spreading illumination across a table length of 2-2.5m. The matt black finish absorbs reflections and pairs cleanly with contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors. Installation requires a single ceiling fixing point at the central rosette, with the steel cable concealing the wiring run.

Each conical shade contains a sealed LED module paired with an opal diffuser that softens the light output and reduces glare when the fitting is viewed from below. The 3000K colour temperature sits in the warm white band, similar to traditional incandescent bulbs, making the Illumia suitable for evening dining and living spaces where warmer tones are preferred. The matt black painted metal resists fingerprints and surface marks better than polished finishes, and the IP20 rating confirms this is an indoor-only fitting not suitable for bathrooms, covered outdoor areas or any location exposed to moisture.

No. The integrated LED modules are not compatible with dimmer switches. The fitting operates at full output when switched on and cannot be dimmed.

What size dining table does it suit?

The 1600mm span works well over tables 2-2.5m in length. For smaller tables the Illumia may appear oversized; for tables longer than 2.5m consider pairing with additional pendant lighting or wall lights to balance the light distribution.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 580mm drop from ceiling plate to lowest shade requires a minimum ceiling height of 2.6m to maintain 2m+ clearance above floor level. Lower ceilings may find the shades hang too low for comfortable movement beneath the fitting.

Can the LEDs be replaced if one fails?
