Description

Hygge is a floor lamp in warm grey. A wide warm grey cone with straight sides and a sharp open rim, standing on a very slim white stem that rises from a flat round grey disc base. The cone is shallow for its width, so the lamp reads as a broad triangle over a thin line. The stem is a plain round tube with no joints along it and is deliberately thin, so the shade appears to float above the floor. A pale flex leaves the foot and trails away. The grey and the white are matt throughout. It measures 40cm across and 140cm tall.

It stands beside a chair or at the end of a sofa, where it puts one pool of light exactly where it is needed without lighting the whole space. That is what a floor lamp is for: it takes the reading light off the ceiling and puts it at shoulder height, so the room can be lit softly and still be worked in.

It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

An E27 lamp up to 40W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
