Description

The Knightsbridge HDMI outlet module is a 25 x 50mm grey ABS insert designed to fit euro-module faceplates and grid systems. The module provides a single HDMI v1.4 socket on the front face, connected to a second HDMI socket on a 100mm cable at the rear, allowing HDMI cables to be routed into wall cavities or behind furniture without sharp bends at the connection point.

Designed for AV installations in home cinemas, offices, meeting rooms and residential lounges, the module allows HDMI sources (set-top boxes, media players, laptops) to connect to wall-mounted displays via in-wall cabling. The 25 x 50mm footprint occupies a single euro-module aperture, leaving space for additional modules (power, USB, coaxial, Ethernet) in multi-gang grid plates. The 47mm minimum mounting box depth accommodates the module body and rear cable connection.

The grey ABS finish matches standard euro-module faceplates in light grey or white tones, providing a neutral appearance that blends into walls and joinery. HDMI v1.4 supports resolutions up to 4K at 30Hz, 1080p at 60Hz, 3D video formats and Audio Return Channel (ARC), making it compatible with most domestic HDMI equipment installed between 2010 and present. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations only.

Frequently Asked

What is HDMI v1.4 capable of?

HDMI v1.4 supports resolutions up to 4K at 30Hz, 1080p at 60Hz, 3D video formats and Audio Return Channel (ARC). It handles most domestic AV equipment including set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, games consoles and laptops, but does not support 4K at 60Hz or HDR formats which require HDMI v2.0 or later.

What mounting box depth is required?

A minimum 47mm back box depth is needed to accommodate the 40mm recessed depth of the module plus the rear HDMI socket and cable connection. Standard 35mm back boxes are not deep enough.

What is the rear cable for?

The 100mm HDMI cable at the rear connects the front socket to a second HDMI socket, allowing HDMI cables to be routed into the wall cavity without sharp bends directly behind the faceplate. This makes installation easier and reduces strain on the HDMI connectors.

Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the module is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It is not protected against moisture or dust ingress and should not be installed in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any outdoor location.
