Description

The Knightsbridge GU10 track spotlight is a compact black aluminium spotlight head that clips onto standard UK track lighting systems via a plastic track connector. The head holds a single GU10 bulb (sold separately) and rotates 350° on the track axis while tilting 80° on the lamp head axis, allowing light to be directed across a wide range of positions from a fixed track position.

Designed for retail, gallery, kitchen and lounge installations where accent or task lighting needs to be adjusted without re-wiring, the spotlight suits highlighting artwork, illuminating worktops, or washing light across feature walls. The 160mm projection from the track keeps the head clear of shelving and architectural details when fitted on ceiling or wall-mounted track. The 56mm diameter head and 75mm body length keep the profile compact enough to fit multiple heads on a single track run without visual clutter.

The black finish is a powder-coated aluminium that resists scratches and heat discolouration better than painted steel alternatives. The spotlight accepts any standard GU10 LED or halogen bulb up to 50W, with dimmability determined by the bulb choice rather than the fitting itself. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior spaces only — bathrooms, wet rooms and outdoor installations require a higher IP-rated alternative.

Does this fit standard track systems?

Yes. The plastic track connector is compatible with standard UK single-circuit track lighting systems. The connector clips into the track and locks via a twist mechanism, allowing the spotlight to be repositioned along the track length without tools.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the GU10 bulb you install. Dimmable GU10 LEDs will dim when paired with a compatible dimmer switch on the track circuit. Non-dimmable GU10 LEDs and most halogen GU10s will not dim or may flicker on a dimmer.

What bulb wattage is recommended?

The fitting accepts GU10 bulbs up to 50W maximum. Most LED GU10 bulbs are 4-6W and produce equivalent light output to 35-50W halogen, so a 5W LED is typically sufficient for accent or task lighting applications.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior spaces only. Bathrooms require fittings rated IP44 or higher depending on zone placement.
