Description

Glow is a table lamp in black and white. An opal glass bell head held in a black band, mounted on a short jointed black arm that ends in a spring clamp with wide serrated jaws. The clamp grips a shelf edge or a headboard and the arm folds at a knuckle so the head can be turned and tipped. The glass is warm white and evenly diffusing with an open rim, and it is the only pale element on the fitting. The flex runs out of the top of the holder and away behind the clamp. Everything but the glass is a flat moulded black. It measures 15cm across and 22cm tall, in glass and metal.

It is a lamp for a side table, a desk or a bedside, close enough to reach the switch from where you sit, and it lights the surface it stands on rather than the whole room. A pair either side of a bed or a sofa reads as deliberate where one alone reads as an afterthought, and two smaller lamps light a room more evenly than one large one.

The holder is E14 and takes up to 40W. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

Which bulb does it take?

An E14 lamp up to 40W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
