Description
The Globe is an IP44-rated bathroom wall light with a 100mm frosted glass sphere held in a matt black pressed steel frame. The fitting houses a single G9 bulb (sold separately, 25W max) behind the frosted glass, which diffuses the light output evenly across the sphere. A pull cord switch extends from the base of the wall plate, allowing the light to be operated without reaching for a separate wall switch.
Designed for bathrooms where zone 2 lighting (areas outside the immediate shower enclosure or bath surround but still subject to occasional splashing) is required, the IP44 rating provides protection against water spray from any direction. The 124mm projection from the wall and 177mm overall height suit positioning above a bathroom mirror, flanking a vanity, or as general ambient lighting in smaller bathrooms and cloakrooms. The compact footprint allows the Globe to be fitted in tighter spaces where larger wall lights would obstruct movement.
The matt black finish on the pressed steel frame provides a muted contrast against white or light-toned bathroom tiles, and pairs cleanly with black tapware, shower fittings and towel rails. The frosted glass hides the bulb filament when lit, presenting as a softly glowing orb rather than a visible point source. Dimmability depends on the specific G9 bulb used — pair with a dimmable G9 LED if you want to control brightness from a compatible dimmer switch.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used in a bathroom shower area?
The IP44 rating makes the Globe suitable for bathroom zone 2 (areas outside the immediate shower enclosure or bath but still subject to occasional splashing). It is not rated for use directly inside a shower enclosure or above a bath (zone 1), where IP65 or higher is typically required.
What bulb does it take?
The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 25W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit a 3-5W G9 LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bathroom lighting.
Is it dimmable?
Dimming depends on the bulb. If you fit a dimmable G9 LED and connect the light to a compatible dimmer switch, the output can be controlled. Standard non-dimmable G9 bulbs will operate at full brightness only.
How is the pull cord used?
The pull cord switch extends from the base of the wall plate. Pull once to switch on, pull again to switch off. This allows the light to be operated without needing a separate wall switch, useful in bathrooms where wall switches may be inconveniently positioned.
