Description

Duracell Plus Power AA LR6 batteries are 1.5V alkaline cells formulated with Power Boost Ingredients for extended run time in high-drain devices. This 16-pack supplies enough cells to power multiple controllers, motorised toys, wireless keyboards, torches and remote controls without needing to restock frequently.

Designed for households and offices with multiple battery-powered devices, the AA size fits standard battery compartments in game controllers, digital cameras, wall clocks, LED torches and kitchen timers. The alkaline chemistry delivers stable voltage output across the discharge curve, maintaining consistent performance until the cell is depleted. Duracell builds these cells with leak-resistant construction to protect devices during storage and use.

Each cell measures 50.5mm length by 14.5mm diameter and weighs approximately 23g. The 16-cell blister pack stores compactly in a drawer or cupboard and the cells carry a 10-year shelf life from manufacture date, so unused batteries retain their charge for future use. The orange and black colour coding matches Duracell's recognisable branding and helps identify cell type when mixed battery storage is used.

Frequently Asked

How long do these batteries last in typical devices?

Run time depends on the device's power draw. In a standard LED torch drawing 200-300mA, expect 6-10 hours of continuous use. In a low-drain wall clock drawing 10-20mA, a single cell can last 12-18 months. High-drain devices like digital cameras deplete cells faster.

Can these be used in smoke alarms?

Yes, AA alkaline cells are suitable for most mains-wired smoke alarms with battery backup and for standalone battery-powered smoke alarms. Replace annually or when the low-battery chirp sounds, whichever comes first.

Are these rechargeable?

No. These are single-use alkaline batteries and must not be placed in a battery charger. Attempting to recharge alkaline cells can cause leakage or rupture. For rechargeable AA cells, look for NiMH chemistry batteries rated in mAh.

What's the shelf life?

Duracell alkaline batteries carry a 10-year shelf life from the manufacture date printed on the packaging. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct heat to maximise shelf life.
