Description
The Duceri is a 3W LED emergency bulkhead with IP65 rating and maintained operation, meaning the LEDs run continuously on mains power and switch to battery backup during power cuts. The fitting houses 12 surface-mount LEDs behind a hinged polycarbonate diffuser, providing 5500K daylight-spectrum light suitable for exit routes, stairwells, communal areas and industrial zones requiring emergency lighting.
Designed for surface mounting on walls and ceilings in commercial and industrial buildings, the bulkhead measures 200 x 90mm with a 45mm profile and weighs 600g. The hinged cover allows access to the internal battery and terminal block for testing and maintenance without removing the base from the wall. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making the fitting suitable for outdoor use under canopies, car parks, loading bays and washdown areas.
Maintained operation means the LEDs illuminate continuously when connected to mains power, acting as standard area lighting as well as emergency lighting. During a power failure, the internal battery takes over automatically, continuing to power the LEDs for the duration of the battery charge. The polycarbonate diffuser and white polycarbonate base are impact-resistant and rated for use in high-traffic areas where accidental contact with the fitting is likely.

Frequently Asked
What does 'maintained' mean for emergency lighting?
Maintained operation means the LEDs run continuously on mains power as standard lighting and automatically switch to battery backup during power failures. This differs from non-maintained, where the LEDs only light during power cuts. Maintained fittings are required in public areas where constant illumination is needed.
How long does the battery last during a power cut?
Battery duration depends on the installed battery capacity. Refer to the specification sheet in the Downloads tab for the exact emergency duration rating for this model. Typical 3W emergency bulkheads provide 3 hours of emergency lighting on a full charge.
Can this be used outdoors?
Yes. The IP65 rating protects against dust and low-pressure water jets, making the bulkhead suitable for outdoor use under canopies, car park ceilings, loading bays and external corridors. It is not rated for direct exposure to heavy rain or submersion.
How is the battery accessed for testing?
The front polycarbonate cover is hinged and can be opened without removing the base from the wall. This allows access to the internal battery, terminal block and test button for routine maintenance and statutory testing.
