Description

The Knightsbridge PWL5 is a curved plaster wall light cast from natural gypsum, directing light both upwards and downwards through open top and bottom apertures. A single G9 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the cylindrical body, with the curved profile softening the shadow lines where the light meets the wall. The plaster construction gives the fitting a solid 150mm height and 125mm projection from the wall surface.

Designed for hallways, staircases, landings and living room feature walls, the wall light provides ambient rather than task lighting, with the up-down directionality reducing glare while highlighting wall texture. The fitting works as a single accent or in multiples spaced 1.5-2m apart along a corridor or staircase run. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry internal spaces only.

The natural gypsum finish is white when supplied but accepts any good-quality emulsion paint, allowing the fitting to be colour-matched to the surrounding wall during decoration. Once painted the same colour as the wall, the fitting becomes a recessed light feature rather than a visible object, with only the wash of light revealing its position. The Class I earthing requires a standard three-core mains connection. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific G9 bulb installed.

Can the plaster finish be painted?

Yes. The natural gypsum construction accepts any good-quality emulsion paint. Painting the fitting to match the wall colour allows it to blend in, with only the up-down wash of light visible once installed.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting accepts a G9 capsule bulb up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED G9 between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming capability depends on the specific G9 bulb installed. Choose a dimmable-rated LED G9 if you intend to use this with a dimmer switch, and confirm compatibility between bulb and dimmer model before installation.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry internal spaces only. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, shower rooms or any zone subject to moisture or direct water contact.
