Description

Candy is a ceiling light in olive green. A wide, very shallow glass dome sitting tight against the ceiling, turned with a twisted flute so broad ribs sweep out from an off-centre crown in a slow spiral across the whole face. The glass is a soft olive green, thick and evenly diffusing, so the ribs show as bands of shading rather than as edges. The rim turns down at the outer edge with no visible trim. It is much wider than it is deep and reads as a shell laid against the plaster. It measures 20cm across and the same in height, in glass and metal.

Mounted flush it clears a doorway and a low ceiling, so a corridor, a landing or a small bedroom is its territory, and it lights the whole room evenly rather than pooling on one surface. It is the light you put in first and stop noticing, which is the point of a flush fitting: it does the general lighting so the lamps in the room can do the rest.

The holder is E27 and takes up to 40W. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
