Description

Baroni is a ceiling light in opal. A wide, very shallow white dish that flares out almost flat, with a second smaller bowl of opal glass sitting beneath it and glowing warm. The upper dish shields the lamp from above, while the glass bowl underneath is what you see lit from the room. A small brushed steel finial finishes the centre of the bowl on its underside. A short brushed steel drum sits above the dish and holds the fitting to the ceiling. The proportions are very wide and low, so it reads as a floating plate. It measures 46cm across.

Mounted flush it clears a doorway and a low ceiling, so a corridor, a landing or a small bedroom is its territory, and it lights the whole room evenly rather than pooling on one surface. It is the light you put in first and stop noticing, which is the point of a flush fitting: it does the general lighting so the lamps in the room can do the rest.

It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.
