Description

The Knightsbridge 2m aluminium LED profile is a surface-mount channel for housing LED strip lighting up to 12mm wide. The 17mm-wide profile has a 7mm projection from the mounting surface and includes a 2m opal diffuser, four mounting clips and two end caps in the box.

Designed for under-cabinet lighting, shelving illumination, and linear accent lighting where the profile sits flush against the surface rather than recessed into it, the channel protects the LED strip and diffuses the individual diode points into a continuous line of light. The opal diffuser softens hotspots without reducing light output significantly, giving a cleaner finish than exposed LED tape.

The matt silver aluminium finish acts as a heatsink for the LED strip, helping to maintain performance over time by dispersing heat away from the diodes. The channel accepts standard 12V or 24V LED strip up to 12mm width — measure your specific strip before ordering to confirm fit. The IP20 rating means the profile is suitable for dry indoor use only; for bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or outdoor applications, a higher IP-rated profile is needed.

Each 2m length can be cut to size with a hacksaw if a shorter run is needed, though cut edges will need filing smooth before fitting the end caps. Additional mounting clips and end caps are available separately under SKU 1MSURCAP for projects requiring more than the four clips supplied.

What width LED strip does it accept?

The channel accepts LED strip up to 12mm wide. Most standard 12V and 24V LED tape is 8mm or 10mm wide, which fits comfortably. Measure your specific strip before ordering to confirm compatibility.

Can the profile be cut to a shorter length?

Yes. The aluminium channel can be cut with a hacksaw. File the cut edge smooth before fitting the end cap to avoid sharp edges and ensure the cap seats properly.

Does it include the LED strip?

No. The profile, diffuser, clips and end caps are supplied, but the LED strip itself is sold separately. Match your chosen strip to the 12mm maximum width and IP20 rating of the profile.

Is it suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means the profile is for dry indoor use only. For bathrooms (zones 1 and 2), kitchens near sinks, or outdoor applications, use an IP65 or higher-rated profile designed for moisture exposure.
