Description

The Knightsbridge FL8AW is an 8W LED security spotlight with a built-in PIR motion sensor housed in a compact polycarbonate body with a white finish. The adjustable die-cast aluminium head delivers 600 lumens at 5000K through a prismatic lens, providing bright white light for driveways, pathways, side entrances and rear gardens. The PIR sensor offers 180° detection coverage with a 10m range and adjustable lux and time settings.

Designed for wall-mounting above doorways, on garage corners and along perimeter fencing, the spotlight fits IP55 outdoor electrical installations. The quick-fit backing plate allows the main body to be wired in position then plugged into the plate, reducing installation time compared to fixed-wiring methods. The die-cast aluminium head tilts on a ball joint to direct light onto paths, doorways or areas requiring motion-activated illumination.

The polycarbonate main body combines impact resistance with weather resistance, while the die-cast aluminium spotlight housing provides heat dissipation for the integrated 8W SMD LED. The 5000K colour temperature produces a cool white light that maximises visibility for security purposes rather than ambient outdoor lighting. The Class II double-insulated construction means no earth wire is required during installation.

The PIR sensor covers a 180° horizontal arc with a 10m detection range. The lux and time settings are adjustable on the unit itself, allowing you to set when the light activates based on ambient light levels and how long it stays on after motion is detected.

Can this be installed outdoors in all weather?

Yes. The IP55 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor wall mounting in exposed positions. The polycarbonate body and die-cast aluminium head are both weather-resistant.

What wiring is required for installation?

The spotlight is Class II double-insulated, so no earth wire connection is required. It runs on 230V mains and uses a quick-fit backing plate system — the plate is wired to the mains supply and fixed to the wall, then the main spotlight unit plugs into the plate.

Can the spotlight head be angled after installation?

Yes. The die-cast aluminium head sits on an adjustable ball joint, allowing it to be tilted and rotated to direct the 600-lumen beam onto the area you want to illuminate when motion is detected.
