The Knightsbridge 6A 2-way dummy dimmer switch module is a front-mounting grid module designed exclusively for the Curved Edge grid system. The module provides push on/off switching without actual dimming capability — the rotary dial operates as a rocker switch to turn circuits on and off, making it useful for replacing a dimmer module with a standard switch while maintaining a consistent appearance across a grid plate.

Designed for residential and light commercial installations where grid systems are used to combine multiple controls on a single faceplate, the module fits Curved Edge grid frames and requires a 35mm minimum back box depth. The 2-way switching allows the same circuit to be controlled from two locations, making it suitable for hallways, staircases and rooms with multiple entry points.

The white thermoset resin and polycarbonate construction gives the module a clean, durable finish that resists discolouration under UV exposure better than standard thermoplastic switches. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry interior locations. No. This is a dummy dimmer, meaning it has the rotary dial appearance of a dimmer but operates as a simple push on/off switch. It is used to maintain visual consistency across a grid plate when a dimmer module needs to be replaced with a standard switch.

What is the Curved Edge grid system?

Knightsbridge's Curved Edge grid system allows multiple switch and socket modules to be mounted on a single faceplate, creating a custom control panel. This module only fits Curved Edge grid frames — it is not compatible with other grid systems or standard single-gang faceplates.

What back box depth is required?

A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The module sits within the grid frame, which then mounts to the back box.

Can this be used in bathrooms or kitchens?

The IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry interior locations only. It is not rated for direct water exposure, so should not be installed within bathroom zones or in outdoor locations.
