Description
The Knightsbridge 4W LED golf ball bulb uses exposed filament LED technology inside a clear 45mm glass envelope with an E27 Edison screw base. The visible LED filaments replicate the appearance of traditional incandescent tungsten wire, giving the bulb a warm vintage look when lit and unlit. At 2700K colour temperature and 490 lumens output, the bulb produces warm white light equivalent to a 40W incandescent.
Designed for decorative fixtures where the bulb itself is visible — pendant lights, chandeliers, wall sconces and table lamps with open or clear shades — the filament construction provides both functional light and visual interest. The 330-degree beam angle gives near-omnidirectional light distribution, suitable for general ambient lighting rather than directed task light. The bulb is dimmable with most trailing-edge dimmers, allowing output to be reduced for evening or mood lighting.
The clear glass envelope measures 45mm diameter and 76mm height, fitting standard golf ball bulb positions in decorative fittings. The filament construction delivers 132.2 lumens per watt efficiency, significantly higher than halogen or incandescent equivalents, while the 15,000-hour L70B50 rating means the bulb should maintain at least 70% of its initial brightness for approximately 15,000 hours of use. The CRI of greater than 80 provides good colour rendering for residential interiors.

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb dimmable?
Yes. The bulb is compatible with most trailing-edge dimmers. Compatibility varies by dimmer model, so we recommend testing before completing a multi-bulb installation. Some leading-edge dimmers may cause flickering or limited dimming range.
What's the colour temperature?
The bulb produces warm white light at 2700K, similar to traditional incandescent bulbs. This colour temperature suits living rooms, bedrooms and dining areas where a warm ambient atmosphere is preferred over cooler daylight-white tones.
How long does the bulb last?
The L70B50 rating of 15,000 hours means the bulb should maintain at least 70% of its initial 490 lumen output for approximately 15,000 hours of use. At typical residential usage of 3 hours per day, this equates to roughly 13-14 years before noticeable dimming.
Can it be used in enclosed fittings?
The IP20 rating indicates the bulb is designed for dry indoor use. It can be used in enclosed fittings, but check that the fitting allows adequate ventilation — fully sealed glass shades can trap heat and reduce LED lifespan.
