Description

The Knightsbridge GDF002F is a stainless steel mounting frame designed to support 3-4 gang modular grid switch assemblies in Knightsbridge's Flat Plate, Raised Edge and Metalclad faceplate ranges. The frame fixes to a standard UK back box and provides the structural support for individual grid modules (switches, dimmers, sockets, data outlets) to clip into before the outer decorative faceplate is fitted.

This frame is used in custom-configured modular switch installations where individual grid modules are combined to create a bespoke control panel. For example, a 4-gang assembly might combine two light switches, a dimmer and a data socket on a single faceplate. The frame allows electricians and specifiers to build up the exact combination of functions needed without committing to a fixed-function pre-wired plate.

The premium-grade steel construction carries a 25-year warranty and includes an integral earth terminal for safe grounding of the metal frame. The 140mm width and 59.5mm height suit standard UK grid module spacing, and the 10.5mm projection from the wall ensures compatibility with shallow-profile faceplates. For larger assemblies, multiple GDF002F frames can be combined: two frames support 6-8 gang faceplates, three frames support 9-12 gang assemblies.

The stainless steel finish resists corrosion in high-humidity environments and provides a neutral metallic base behind the chosen faceplate finish, whether that's polished chrome, brushed brass, matt black or any other Knightsbridge decorative finish. The IP20 rating makes this suitable for dry indoor locations including residential, commercial and hospitality installations.

This frame is designed exclusively for Knightsbridge's Flat Plate, Raised Edge and Metalclad grid faceplate ranges. It will not work with other Knightsbridge ranges or other manufacturers' grid systems.
