Description

The Knightsbridge LFCOB24DL is a 5m reel of COB (Chip-on-Board) LED strip delivering 11W per metre at 6000K daylight colour temperature. The COB construction places multiple LED chips directly onto the flexible PCB substrate, creating a continuous line of light without the individual dot effect seen in standard LED strips. The strip measures 8mm wide by 1.5mm thick and runs on 24V DC via a separate constant voltage driver (sold separately).

Designed for internal installations where a uniform light line is needed without visible gaps or hotspots, the strip suits under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, cove lighting in living rooms, display cabinet backlighting, and feature lighting along architectural details like skirting or coving. The 6000K colour temperature produces a crisp, neutral-white daylight output at 1170 lumens per metre, matching northern European daylight and pairing with cool-toned contemporary interiors. The strip can be cut to length every 62.5mm at marked intervals, allowing precise fitting to cabinet or alcove dimensions.

Each reel includes 3M self-adhesive tape on the reverse for direct mounting to clean, dry surfaces. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry internal environments only — the strip is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor installations, or anywhere exposed to moisture. The CRI >90 rating ensures accurate colour rendering of objects under the light, which matters for kitchen worktops, retail displays, and anywhere colour accuracy is needed. Dimming is possible when paired with a 24V dimmable driver and compatible control gear. Maximum continuous run length is 10m (two 5m reels joined end-to-end), beyond which voltage drop affects brightness and colour consistency.

What driver does this strip need?

The strip requires a 24V DC constant voltage LED driver. For the full 5m reel drawing 55W total (11W per metre), choose a driver rated at 60W minimum to allow headroom. The driver is sold separately. Check that the driver is dimmable if you plan to use dimming control.

Can I cut the strip to length?

Yes. The strip can be cut at marked intervals every 62.5mm along its length. Cutting at unmarked points will damage the circuit and void the warranty.

What does COB mean and why does it matter?

COB stands for Chip-on-Board. Instead of individual LED chips spaced along the strip (which create visible dots), COB places many tiny chips directly onto the flexible PCB, creating a continuous uniform light line with no dotting effect. This matters for applications like under-cabinet lighting where the strip reflection is visible on worktops.

Is this strip waterproof?

No. The IP20 rating means the strip is for dry internal use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor installations, or anywhere exposed to moisture or splashing.
