Description
The Knightsbridge 24V COB LED strip delivers 1195 lumens per metre from a dot-free continuous line of chip-on-board LEDs encapsulated in a flexible 8mm-wide silicone strip. The 5m reel provides 11W per metre output at 3000K warm white with a CRI above 90, replicating the colour accuracy of halogen without the heat or energy draw.
Designed for cove lighting, under-cabinet installation, shelf accent lighting and architectural detailing where a seamless light line is needed without the visible dotting of traditional SMD LED strips. The strip can be cut at 62.5mm intervals to fit exact measurements, and runs can be extended up to a maximum of 10m when paired with an appropriate 24V constant voltage driver. The 3M self-adhesive backing adheres to clean, dry surfaces including wood, metal, plaster and painted finishes.
The COB (chip-on-board) construction eliminates the individual LED hot spots typical of older SMD strip technology, producing an even wash of light across the entire length of the strip. The 135-degree beam angle provides wide coverage suitable for uplighting ceilings, downlighting worktops, or backlighting translucent panels. The silicone coating protects the LEDs from dust and minor impacts while maintaining flexibility for curved installations with a minimum 50mm bend radius.
The IP20 rating limits the strip to internal, dry locations only — it is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use, or anywhere subject to moisture. Dimming requires a compatible 24V PWM or 0-10V dimmer driver — the strip itself is driver-dependent for dimming functionality. The L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours indicates the strip will maintain at least 70% of its initial output after approximately six years of continuous operation.

Frequently Asked
What driver does this strip require?
The strip requires a 24V DC constant voltage LED driver. For a single 5m reel drawing 55W total (11W per metre), a driver rated at 60-75W minimum is recommended to allow headroom. For dimming, pair with a PWM or 0-10V dimmable 24V driver.
Can it be cut to length?
Yes. The strip can be cut at marked intervals every 62.5mm along its length. Cut points are clearly marked on the strip surface. Once cut, solder leads to the copper pads or use solderless connector clips designed for 8mm COB strip.
What's the difference between COB and SMD LED strip?
COB (chip-on-board) places multiple LED chips directly onto the flexible circuit board in a continuous line, then encapsulates them in silicone. This produces a seamless, dot-free light output. SMD strip uses individual surface-mount LED packages spaced at intervals, which creates visible dotting or hot spots when viewed directly or when reflected off surfaces.
Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the strip has no moisture protection and is suitable for internal, dry locations only. For bathrooms, cloakrooms or outdoor applications, use an IP65 or IP67 rated strip with appropriate waterproof coating.
