Description

The Knightsbridge 20AX DP grid module is a single-width electrical switch component designed to clip into Knightsbridge grid mounting frames (sold separately). The module carries a 20AX rating at 230V, handling loads up to 4,600W, and uses double pole switching to isolate both live and neutral lines when switched off.

Grid modules allow custom switch and socket configurations in residential, commercial and hospitality installations where multiple controls need to sit side-by-side in a single faceplate. This single-module switch can be combined with dimmer modules, socket modules, data modules and blank plates within the same grid frame, giving flexibility to build a control layout that fits the specific needs of the room.

The antique brass finish has a brushed, aged patina that sits between polished brass and darker oxidised tones, pairing with traditional and period interiors. The module measures 24.8mm wide by 56.3mm tall, fitting standard grid frames, and requires a minimum 35mm back box depth for installation. The ABS body with steel contacts provides structural durability within the grid system.

Frequently Asked

What is a grid module and how does it work?

A grid module is an individual electrical component (switch, socket, dimmer, blank plate) that clips into a separate metal mounting frame fixed to the wall back box. Multiple modules can be combined side-by-side in the same frame to create custom control layouts. The mounting frames are sold separately.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 35mm back box depth is needed for safe installation of this module within a grid frame. The module itself projects 7mm from the front of the frame once clipped in.

What does 20AX rating mean?

20AX means the module can handle up to 20 amps on standard resistive loads at 230V (approximately 4,600W), making it suitable for high-draw appliances. The double pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when switched off.

What other finishes are available in this grid range?

Knightsbridge grid modules are available in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
