Description
The Knightsbridge GDM001AT is a 20AX 2-way single-pole grid module in an anthracite finish, designed to clip into standard Knightsbridge grid mounting frames (sold separately). The module measures 24.8mm wide by 56.3mm tall, occupying one grid space in multi-gang configurations, and operates as a 2-way switch allowing control of a single circuit from two locations.
Grid modules are used in residential and commercial installations where multiple switches, sockets or dimmers need to be grouped in a single faceplate. This anthracite module pairs with other Knightsbridge grid components to create custom switch plates controlling lighting circuits, fan isolators or auxiliary circuits up to 20A. The 2-way configuration allows the same light or load to be controlled from two separate switch positions, making it suitable for hallways, staircases and rooms with multiple entry points.
The module clips into the front of a grid mounting frame without tools, and the frame itself fixes to a standard 35mm minimum back box behind the wall. The anthracite finish is a dark charcoal grey that sits between black and mid-grey, pairing with both monochrome and warmer interior schemes. The ABS and steel construction carries IP20 protection and a 25-year warranty from Knightsbridge.

Frequently Asked
What is a 2-way switch and when is it used?
A 2-way switch allows control of the same light or circuit from two separate switch positions. It is typically used in hallways, staircases, and bedrooms where you need to turn a light on at one end of the room and off at the other. This module forms one of the two 2-way switches in that configuration.
What mounting frame does this module require?
This module clips into Knightsbridge grid mounting frames, sold separately. The frame fixes to a 35mm minimum back box and accepts between 1 and 6 grid modules depending on the frame size chosen. The module occupies one grid space.
What does 20AX rating mean?
20AX indicates the module can switch up to 20 amps of resistive load at 230V, which is higher than the standard 10A rating on most domestic light switches. This makes it suitable for controlling higher-load circuits such as multiple lights on a single circuit or small motor loads.
Can I mix this anthracite module with other finishes in the same grid frame?
Yes. Knightsbridge grid modules are available in multiple finishes including white, black, chrome and anthracite. You can mix different module finishes within the same frame, though most installations use a consistent finish across all modules in a single plate.
