Description

The Knightsbridge 20AX 1-gang intermediate modular switch is a 50x50mm wide rocker module designed to fit euro modular faceplates. An intermediate switch allows control of a single circuit from three or more positions, typically used in staircases, hallways and large rooms where lights need control from multiple entry points. The 20AX rating handles loads up to 4,600W on 230V mains, comfortably exceeding the requirement for residential and commercial lighting circuits.

Designed for use in Knightsbridge's modular faceplate system, the switch combines with other modules (sockets, dimmers, data ports) to build custom configurations. The 50x50mm wide rocker gives a larger actuation surface than 25x50mm modules, making it easier to operate in low light or for users with reduced dexterity. The grey ABS construction provides a neutral backdrop that works across contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors without competing with architectural details.

The module requires a 25mm minimum back box depth and clips into the modular faceplate from the front once wiring is complete. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor areas including living rooms, bedrooms, offices and retail spaces. The Class II double-insulated construction means no earth connection is required to the switch body itself, simplifying installation in older properties.
