Description

The Knightsbridge 20A 1-gang DP switch is a double pole isolator designed for fixed appliances drawing up to 20A at 230V, including immersion heaters, water heaters, and large commercial catering equipment. The switch breaks both live and neutral lines when turned off, providing full isolation for maintenance or appliance servicing. The screwless matt black faceplate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame, hiding all fixings behind the cover plate.

Intended for residential kitchens, utility rooms, plant rooms and commercial installations where fixed appliances require dedicated isolation switches, the unit fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth. The 87.5mm square faceplate aligns with UK standard electrical accessory sizing, allowing it to sit alongside standard sockets and switches from the same Knightsbridge Screwless Matt Black range. The matt black premium-grade steel finish provides a low-sheen surface that minimises fingerprints and reflections.

The switch carries EN 60669-1 certification and includes an IP20 rating for indoor dry-location use. The built-in gasket between the faceplate and the back box reduces dust ingress and improves the seal around the rocker aperture. The earth terminal on the metal sub-frame ensures the faceplate is safely earthed when installed. Knightsbridge backs this switch with a 25-year warranty, covering material and manufacturing defects under normal domestic use.
