Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang grid faceplate is an 85.75mm square polished chrome plate with rounded edges, designed to hold two grid modules when paired with a separate grid mounting frame (sold separately). The plate is constructed from premium-grade steel with a high-polish chrome finish and sits 7.5mm proud of the wall surface once installed.

Designed for use with Knightsbridge's modular grid system, the faceplate accepts any combination of grid switches, sockets, data outlets and control modules, allowing bespoke electrical installations where standard pre-configured faceplates would not suit. The grid mounting frame fixes to the back box first, then individual grid modules clip into the frame, and finally the polished chrome faceplate overlays the entire assembly to give a clean finished appearance with no visible fixings.

The polished chrome finish provides a bright reflective surface that pairs well with contemporary bathrooms, kitchens and commercial interiors where coordinated metallic finishes are required. The rounded edge profile softens the transition between the plate and the wall compared to flat-edge alternatives. The 25-year warranty covers manufacturing defects in the steel construction and chrome plating.

What is the grid system and how does it work?

Knightsbridge's grid system allows you to build custom switch and socket configurations by selecting individual grid modules (switches, sockets, data outlets) and installing them into a separate mounting frame, which is then covered by this faceplate. The faceplate itself does not contain any electrical components — it is purely the decorative cover plate.

What do I need to complete the installation?

You need a 1-2 gang grid mounting frame (sold separately), up to two grid modules of your choice (switches, sockets, dimmers, USB outlets etc.), and a standard 25mm back box. The mounting frame fixes to the back box, the grid modules clip into the frame, and this faceplate overlays the assembly.

Is this screwless or screw-fixed?

This is a screw-fixed faceplate. Two screws secure it to the grid mounting frame underneath. The screw heads are visible once installed, positioned top and bottom of the plate.
