Description

The Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur unit provides switched control for fixed appliances such as boilers, extractor fans, underfloor heating and immersion heaters. The unit combines a 13A fuse holder with a rocker switch and a red neon indicator that illuminates when the circuit is live, confirming power status at a glance.

Designed for permanent installations where an appliance needs local isolation without unplugging, the double pole switching disconnects both live and neutral conductors for full circuit isolation when switched off. The matching polished chrome rocker and fuse holder maintain a consistent finish across the faceplate, while the rounded edge profile reduces the visual and physical impact of the plate on the wall.

The premium-grade steel construction with polished chrome finish provides a reflective metallic surface that pairs with contemporary and traditional interiors where chrome taps, handles and light fittings are present. The unit fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and carries IP20 rating for general indoor use. The 13A rating handles fixed appliances up to 3,120W including boilers, extractor fans, underfloor heating controllers, wall-mounted heaters, and immersion heaters. It is not intended for socket outlets or plug-in appliances.

What does the neon indicator show?

The red neon illuminates when the circuit is live, confirming that power is available at the spur. This allows quick verification that the circuit is energised without needing to test the appliance itself.

Is the switch double pole or single pole?

Double pole. Both live and neutral conductors are disconnected when the switch is in the off position, providing full circuit isolation rather than just breaking the live conductor.

What fuse does it take?

The unit takes a standard 13A BS 1362 cartridge fuse. The fuse can be accessed by removing the fuse holder cover on the faceplate without needing to remove the entire unit from the wall.
