Description
The Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur unit combines a rocker switch and fused connection point behind a matt black screwless faceplate with a matching black fuse cover. The unit controls and protects hardwired appliances such as extractor fans, heated towel rails, water heaters and under-cabinet lighting by isolating the circuit via the switch and protecting it with a replaceable 13A fuse.
Designed for residential and commercial installation, the fused spur fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This means there are no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The rocker switch and fuse holder are recessed within the plate to maintain the low-profile design, with a total projection of just 4.3mm from the wall.
The matt black finish is achieved through a powder-coated premium-grade steel construction, providing a durable surface that resists wear and fingerprints better than gloss finishes. The finish pairs with contemporary, industrial and dark-toned interiors, and sits within Knightsbridge's Screwless Flat Plate range, allowing it to be matched with sockets, dimmers and other accessories in the same style. Certified to BS 1363-4, the unit carries a 25-year warranty and an IP20 rating suitable for dry indoor locations.

Frequently Asked
What appliances does a fused spur control?
Fused spurs are used for hardwired appliances that don't plug into a socket — typically extractor fans, heated towel rails, electric water heaters, boilers, under-cabinet lighting and bathroom ventilation. The switch isolates the circuit and the fuse protects against overload.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the fused spur and re-clipped without re-wiring.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this screwless fused spur in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
