What does the 13A rating mean in practice?

Each socket can carry up to 13A, but the total load across all four sockets combined cannot exceed 13A (3,120W at 240V) before the fuse in the plug trips. For example, four devices drawing 3A each would be within the limit, but four devices drawing 5A each would exceed it.

What are child-protected sockets?

Spring-loaded shutters inside each socket aperture prevent objects from entering the live pins unless equal pressure is applied to both the live and neutral apertures simultaneously, which only happens when inserting a standard UK plug. This prevents children from inserting single-pin objects like keys or screwdrivers.

Can this be used outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the housing provides no protection against water ingress. The extension is designed for indoor use only in dry environments. For outdoor or damp-location use, an IP44 or higher rated extension is required.

What does the neon indicator show?
