Description
This Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang SP switched socket adds one USB-A and one USB-C fast-charge port behind a white 9mm square edge faceplate. The USB-A port delivers up to 18W via Qualcomm Quick Charge, while the USB-C port supports up to 45W Power Delivery, covering smartphones, tablets, laptops and other USB-charged devices without needing separate wall adapters.
Designed for residential, office and hospitality environments, the socket uses single-pole switching on each outlet, with outboard rockers positioned outside the main faceplate aperture for easier finger access. The 9mm plate sits nearly flush to the wall, minimising projection in tight spaces such as behind furniture or beside worktops. The white thermoset resin construction includes third-party tested anti-microbial properties to ISO 22196:2011, making it suitable for kitchens, bathrooms and high-contact areas.
The socket fits a standard UK back box with 25-35mm minimum depth depending on cable routing, and uses top-access captive terminals for straightforward installation. Twin earth terminals provide a secondary earth connection where needed for metal back boxes or cable sheathing continuity. The square edge design gives a clean, geometric profile that pairs with modern, minimal and office-style interiors.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 25mm back box depth is needed for typical installations. If the wiring entry requires side-routing or if multiple cables are present, a 35mm depth box may be needed to accommodate the terminals and cable bends comfortably.
What is the USB charging output?
The USB-A port delivers up to 12V DC 1.5A (18W QC) via Qualcomm Quick Charge. The USB-C port delivers up to 20V DC 2.25A (45W PD) via USB Power Delivery, enough to fast-charge most smartphones, tablets and ultrabooks.
What does single-pole switching mean?
Single-pole (SP) switching isolates the live line only when the socket is switched off, leaving the neutral connected. This is standard for most UK sockets. For additional safety on high-draw appliances or environments requiring full isolation, dual-pole (DP) variants are also available from Knightsbridge.
What are the anti-microbial properties?
The thermoset resin faceplate incorporates an anti-microbial additive tested to ISO 22196:2011, which reduces bacterial growth on the surface. This makes the socket suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, healthcare environments and other high-contact areas where hygiene is a priority.
