Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang SP switched socket adds one USB-A and one USB-C charging port behind a polished chrome screwless faceplate with a white insert. The single-pole switching cuts the live line when the socket is switched off, providing standard UK switching control for most appliances and devices. The USB ports share a 5V DC 4.0A output, allowing simultaneous charging of two devices.

Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation, the socket fits a standard 25-35mm back box depth depending on wiring conditions, and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This means there are no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet.

The polished chrome finish provides a reflective metallic surface that pairs well with modern, contemporary and minimalist interiors. The white insert behind the chrome faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to each outlet aperture. The white metal rockers sit flush with the faceplate when switched off. The premium-grade steel construction gives the unit a substantial 147.5mm x 87.5mm presence with only 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted.

A 25-35mm back box depth is needed, with the exact requirement depending on the number and gauge of cables being terminated. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What's the USB charging output?

The USB-A and USB-C ports share a combined 5V DC 4.0A output. When charging two devices simultaneously, the 4.0A is split between them. For optimal charging performance, use certified USB cables.

What's the difference between SP and DP switching?
